I'm off of work today with NOTHING going on! Yes I know I said I was cleaning out the linen closet, and yes I started . . .
But today is a great day for laying out by the chins and reading and catching up on some of my shows--and all flipping day long I've had to listen to the mowers! Enough already! How long does it take you to mow one apartment complex or 5? It's not a push mower--drive faster for flip sake!

My guy does it at 8 am when Im just going to sleep from work the night before. He was nice today and started at 9:30am. But the dogs were going NUTS! Every time he blows by the door Lola attacks the cracks.

Lol...today is my lazy day too. Actually, I had a lot that I should have done today, but just didn't feel like it. Playing with chins is so much more fun.

Early morning mowing and snow blowing is annoying, but there's a reason for it. My dad works for a landscaping company and occasionally fills in on the mowing crew. Even with drinking lots of water, a lot of the guys get sick from the heat. They try to get most of it done before the hottest part of the day. Also, when you've got several big commercial jobs to do in one day, you have to get an early start.

The snow blowing is the same. People complain if its not done early enough (before people are out and about) and there's usually a lot that needs doing. 5am is pretty early though. We don't usually hit the senior center until 6:30-7am around here.

Here is Florida it rains in the afternoon. My lawn guy told me he tries to beat the rain.

Our complex has the same problem, though they mow on Wednesday, weather permitting. Today was my day off, so I got a nice loooong sleep in for a change.

I work second shift, which means I usually go to bed around 2-4AM and I'm up around noon, but I slept until 3 today and don't feel like I got a darn thing done either. I did make calls about my foster kittens, though, and clean the litter box, feed the snakes, take out the trash, and do some laundry, but I just feel so relaxed and rested that I don't *feel* like I did anything, if that makes sense.

I'll take the mowing. Right now they are tearing up all the sewer pipe on my street, so I got to listen to bang, drag, bang, rattle, rattle, rattle, bang, drag, bang, alllll day. the backhoe ran nonstop since about 8:00 this morning.

Ugh.

Yes, it is particularly annoying to those of us who have to sleep in the day. I don't usually complain because it's not THEIR fault I work nights. But still.......

I live out in the county on 5 acres so mowing is not an issue. But I do have a neighbor that has some sort of backhoe tractor that he used every single day for an entire summer, up until midnight banging that **** thing and making such a ruckus. I finally had to call the cops on him to get him to quit for the night. How long does it take to clear property? He recleared the same area for the entire summer! New neighbors please!

my neighbor likes to start hacking up his trees and such at 6:30 am and there is one guy who cuts like 4 of my neighbors lawn, so he starts just when i get home from work and it doesnt end until it gets dark. VERY ANNOYING! normally it doesnt bother me because i have the air on but it has been so nice here, i have the windows open and can hear EVERYTHING!!

I have people building a house right down the road. It's at the opposite corner, but man, does sound travel! They have to start, by law, around 5 AM, and end at Noon due to heat. My morning, if the chins didn't make it bad enough by having an energy burst at 4, starts with the sound of heavy machinery, hammers, and best of all, Mexican songs being sung in Spanish. They are out their screaming at the top of their lungs. This makes my beagle mix go nuts. So let's see, chins going nuts at 4am, trucks backing up, hammers, singing, and a dog howling. Yep, about that time I forget about sleep and just get up. Luckily, people here don't have grass, so lawn mowers are a rare sound.

I know what you mean! When I worked night shift and lived at home with my parents and brother, they had no courtesy!! My parents would run the sweeper at 10:00 and my brother would play his guitar and amp for hours!! I was livid and yelled, do I call you at 3 am and ask what you are doing? They did not seem to get it! Scott was very good to me when I moved in with him, he let me sleep! Now I am on a daylight/evening shift, so sleeping is a little more normal.
