I know chins can recognize between male and female humans, but my question is can they recognize a person's face from lets say....idk their arm? Or are we just a giant creature to them?

Sometimes I feel like Leo's more interested in my hand than anything else; because it's always in the cage....but today when I was laying on the floor of his pen he came up many times to try to give me kisses. He's never done that. Granted, as I posted in a different thread, he did try to hump my face once today as well.

i am sure a chin knows the difference between a human face and another body part. with chins being a prey animal, they would be very aware of what parts of a predator (human) could potentially cause them the most harm (hands, mouths).

Hmmmm I suppose that makes the most sense. Does anyone know if they see in color or greyscale as well??

I think that most animals have some kind of awareness of the human body, especially around the eyes since that is one of the weak spots that can often be attacked if they feel threatened.

If mine are out playing and want a treat or something they try to climb up me to get to my face, no idea why actually but it´s pretty cute.

This has been discussed here before, and the basic answer is, no, they don't see color. They only have rods and cones in their eyes, unlike ours, so they only see the world in terms of dark and light - so in greyscale.
