So, Furby is doing well. his weight is at around 500 grams. He has been steadily getting better from his long period of being sick. he has always been very vocal, when running around during playtime, in his cage, like soft squeaking and chirping sounds. But a couple days ago he would sit up on the second level, and when I sat at my desk he would come up to the cage bars and start making his irritated kacking sounds, sticking his nose through the bars at me. I am wondering what I did to piss him off so much? He will also just randomly do it too, like in the middle of the night. It's the sound he makes when he doesn't want to be held usually.

sounds like furby wants some attention! and now! when any of my chins do that, i usually go over to the cage and talk to them. sometimes i will open the cage or give them little scritches. and if they havent had a treat i may give them a small piece of chin cookie or couple pieces of crushed rosehips, or 1/2 shredded wheat. usually quiets them down. the few times that it didnt stop and it wasnt in the middle of the night, i did take them out of their cage.

I do my homework right next to him and talk to him all the time. When I try to give him scritches he bites me and he normally LOVES his scritches. So weird. He gets lots of playtime too. I'm trying to avoid treats with him right now, I just got him back to eating just pellets and hay after a couple months of him refusing to, and don't really want to give him anything he'd find yummier until he's really back on track heh

You said he has been sick for a while now..I know my Herby did this after we got her illness issues under control. She would just stare at us and kack at us even if were not doing anything illness related. And it was even worse in the middle of the night, because we had been getting up in the middle of the night to giver her meds. I think she got used to it and thought it was her duty to wake us up like we used to wake her up. ;) Maybe he got so used to the attention from being sick that he wants it all the time now..
