I've seen tips on here about how to make a flying saucer quieter, but wondered if anyone has similar tips for a Leo Braun. Chelsea is REALLY enjoying her wheel at night and its pretty noisy. She's in a Ferret Nation and it seems like maybe the sides of the cage are bumping into the Bass pans?

If the cage bars are hitting the pan - there is surely enough room between the pan and the cage to put a piece of fleece between them to cushion the rattle. I'd go all the way around the inside of the cage around the pan with the fleece. I would have a hard time believing that the wheel itself is making noise, as I used to have a whole bunch of the Leo Braun wheels and they were the most silent wheels I've ever had. Wish I still had all of 'em. Darn...

If you can get the bearing out - wash it with soap and water, blast it with rinse water, and shake it to dry! Use a blow dryer 'til completely dry, and lube it well w/vegetable oil. Wipe-off the access and re-install! Good for a long time!
If the bearing is bad, P.M. me, and I'll try to find one for you!

I have found that the doors on my FN where rattling against the small half-round metal door stops when the wheel was going top speed. Small stick-on felt pads solved the problem.

If the bars are hitting the bass pan then I would try flece.

If you have the hanging kind and it is hitting the bars then you can put a dowel between the brace and bars it to keep it from banging. I had to do that with my hanging one. I would have to figure out what size dowel it is, I bought a couple different sizes and one fit perfectly.

Hope they're out of reach of the chins - dessert!!
Most definitely. The only time they are within reach is when the door is open and then I'm there to steer them away. It has made a tremendous difference in the rattling noises.

I put some felt on the door stops and it seems to be working so far. Thanks for the help!
