I wish I would have come here first for cage recommendations! But we did get them one and oh wow do they love it. The photo is at kind of an odd angle because I was trying to get a snap of them doing that. No humping, just kind of snuggling. Very cute. Vincent loves to bother Christopher.

We've moved the stuff surrounding it and thankfully, nowhere near the curtains! Both for our sake and theirs.

A couple specific questions I haven't been able to find answers to from searching the forums:

1. We got them a big slab of marble from a kitchen type store to keep them cool when they're feeling warm. At the moment we have it under their house. Is that good? Bad? Should we put it somewhere else?

2. What would you recommend lining the bottom of the cage with to keep their feet from getting torn up? Same with the shelves. We're getting a hammock for them so they don't fall off the top one. Right now they're very much enjoying jumping off their house on to the top ledge. I've dismantled one of the hidey hole things you get from pet stores so they have a wooden place to rest (and chew!) near their food and water bottle.

They were so excited last night. I've never seen Christopher be so active!

No wonder, this is where they came from before!

First, your chins are adorable! I use fleece on the floor of the cage, just cut a piece to fit and lay it down (doesnt have to be fancy). The smooth metal shelves wont hurt their little if they dont have bars, are they solid? I also use fleece to cover some shelves, I just use binder clips to hold it on. The placement of the marble is totally up to you! As long as they can safely get to it, it's fine! Congrats on your new cage and have fun decorating it!

I agree with the fleece! If you have sewing skills you could always sew a couple of pieces of fleece together to make it thicker. I use fleece on the bottom of my cages but I have multiple pieces so I can change them out a couple times a week. If you go with fleece you should be able to get fleece scraps for cheap at a local fabric store

Yipppee for your chinnies! Looks great :) Marble slab can go anywhere. I have one for each cage and two of them are in their houses and two others are in random spot. They will re arrange if they dont like it trust me!
