I bought a couple large, and small grapevine wreaths for my chins. I got them at a second hand store. I put them in the oven for a little while just to make sure they are clean. They are not the ones that have decorations on them. They are just plain ones. I added a big one and a small one in my boys cage, and they are going crazy over it. They are having fun chewing it up. I thought I read some where these are safe. Im just making sure they are okay for them. Please let me know.

Thanks!

As long as they aren't chemically treated and don't have any kind of finish on them (sealer, etc.), then they are fine.

How can you tell if they are chemically treated, or have a finish on them? They dont look like they have a finish on them, but I cant say for sure.

This is what they look like. Can you tell by the picture if they have a finish on them, or if they look safe?

Thanks

I was told by the people at Micheals craft store years ago that all the wood products came from China including the grape wreaths, all were fumigated before coming into this country. I personally would not give any wood thing like that since you have no idea of country of orgin. You can buy things like that from Online Bird stores that are safe but not knowing if those are its not worth the risk , JMO.
