I have a 1st time mom that is so protective of her babies. I have been bitten numerous times, she charges at the door, and gives me this terrible look. One time she bite me that she didn't want to let go of my finger. The dad is still in with he is so laid back. The bv girl enjoys coming to the door and I'm not sure if she is doing that to tease me to open it.

Has anyone had a mom that is so protective? What did you do to make her feel as ease.

I've never had a mom bite me protecting her kits. I offer new moms a treat just after delivery and when I want to handle kits. They get a raisin just after delivery to raise blood sugar level. A treat helps distract them from my activity with kits and encourages them to think of my visits as a good thing. I give half an unsweetened mini wheat for treats after the raisin. Then talk with them before handling kits and give scritches if they are cooperative. If your girl continues to bite I would wear a glove when I want to handle kits. She should calm down as the kits get older.

She gets treats shredded wheat, goji berries, and apple sticks at night as well as the rest of the herd they are rotated. I talk to all of the chins like my own child. I'll just work with her more.

Thanks for your advice.

I also have never had any moms of this nature, a couple dads, but never a mom.
