Thinking about purchasing this and would like to know what people like and don't like about it. Is it easy to fold up? I have the Ware right now but my little trouble maker, Mitzie has started chewing the velcro that holds the bottom down and I also did the cardboard panel thing, and the trouble maker chews on the tape! I sometimes use the bathroom.... again trouble maker has decided chewing on the baseboard is the cool thing to do, along with trying to remove the cardboard I have stuffed into the holes on the side of the sink, oh and Maddie thinks the door taste good :hair: And good websites to purchase it off of would also be appreciated :D

I forgot to add this. Phoenix is the same way and she ended up chewing a small portion of the bottom of our bathroom door all the way across before I realized it. I used to put her in there when I would clean her cage but not anymore.

I bought her some fooey spray from Dr. Foster and Smith's website and it works wonders. I would spray on everything that I didn't want her to chew while I left the bathroom for a drink or something. That stuff tastes horrible and it stays in your mouth forever..I tried it the first day OMG was I suprised. You can spray it on fabric, walls, wood, flooring but they recommend you spot test on a piece of fabric before you spray a bunch on it just to be safe but I haven't had a problem with my walls or cupboards with it discoloring.

I love the playpen! I don't have the Marshall I have this one. It easily folds/sets up (think accordion style) in seconds. The only drawback is I wish the panels were higher. I have two together (they are easy to connect) and while I could use a sheet for the top, my son and I like to be in there with them so this wouldn't really work for us. I only have two that are able to escape but with us in there they never actually get out and are usually too occupied to try too many times LOL. I think they are a wise investment :)).

I have two put together

I bought them both off craigslist at different times.I love them and so do the chins.

thanks everyone :D I looked at the petsmart one, but I wanted something I could expand so I went with the marshall.

The Marshall one is just as nice (and maybe nicer) I am sure but for other people who may not understand you can expand the Petsmart one, I have 16 panels connected for instance since I purchased two of them :)).

You know I totally missed where you said you connected two, doh!

I did find the petsmart playpen for a little cheaper here http://www.critter-cages.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=251 petsmart is suppost to price match so it could save you $9 :D

I was just wondering if your chins try to escape the marshall playpen. Phoenix seems to be able to get out every time and I was hoping you guys would have some possible suggestions for me.

Thanks everyone! :)

When Little Dude was young he was able to jump out of the Marshall. But now that he's older he can no longer do it. None of my gang can get out of it. I do place tunnel toys in the center. If they are near the edge they stand on top and try to escape.
I also close up the pen with pipe cleaners. Too much of a pain to try to line up the bars to close it.

That is another reason I love the Clean Living, it folds like an accordian, it takes seconds to flatten.

I have two that can jump to the top but they don't do it often since we are sitting in there with them, but if they get to the top they don't know what to do so I can just scoop them up and set them down again.

I have the playpen and I'm not a huge fan of it. I hardly use it. It's just not tall enough. I put things in there with the chins so they can potentially jump out. I have the canvas top that velcros to it, so that helps a bit.

But it's also not tall enough to really sit in there with them if you want the cover on it.

I prefer a chin safe room. I just block off the baseboards with cardboard.

I know you already bought it, but just giving my opinion on it :))

I have the pen with the extra panels. I got it for my ferrets because their other play pen they learned to crawl out of. This one was supposed to me more difficult for them to crawl out of because of the one wire going across the middle of the pen. They easily learned how to get out of it too.

So, I tried it with the chins - absolute failure, they had no problem jumping out of it after about an hour of play. Now it's just collecting dust.

For me the biggest con with the Marshall's playpen is the company that makes it. I don't support companies that are mill breeders. Marshall's operates the biggest ferret mills in the country.

I got mine with two rescues I got from a former classmate. I like it because I don't have a "safe" area to let the furballs out. I don't like it because I have two girls who CAN jump out of it, and because when they want to "surf" I'm always scared they will get caught.

OMG I had no idea about what Marshall is. I was just thinking maybe taking some cardboard box and hooking it to the sides of the playpen about halfway up the box all the way around. I think I might try that when I get a chance. Phoenix is usually the one who gets out while Sedona doesn't really try it very often.

playpen came today so I will give a test run tonight. I am going to use the cardboard panels from my cardboard playpen (that Mitzie chews the tape on) as a "roof" they have the maze and cottage so they would certaintly be able to get out. I will let you guys know how it works :D

Do you like this playpen? I just ordered it off Amazon but i'm going to use it more as a play"gate" to block part of the chinroom. I ordered the 11 panel one. Is it easy to fold up?
