Portion Control?

My Chin seems like no matter what he does he will sit at his bowl and eat and eat and eat. It's not like I don't feed him or over freed him. Same with his Timothy Hay I will fill his ball with only a little and it will be gone by the time I wake up. And is this why he is popping so much or is that normal?

Free feeding a healthy diet is fine, don't limit portions.

You said you refilled his ball with "only a little" timothy hay. Chins should get as much timothy hay as they can eat. No need to worry about them overeating hay. Pooping a lot is good! It means they are healthy!

As far as your pellets go, very few chins overeat on those. I would not limit portions. As Narcissus asked, I too am curious what brand of pellet you are feeding. Some feeds have treats in them (seeds, veggies, etc) and that's a no no.
