i have a major poop problem ever since i got my ferret nation cage and i was wondering if any of you had ways of preventing it going all over the floor. i know they make the shelves with the blockers on them but im talking about if anyone has enclosed there cage with anything or atleast the bottom part of each level, i saw a pic of someones cage it looked like it was covered in fleece but fit to the cage....if anyone has any suggestions on anything that works great let me know.........

poop is out of controll lol

I attached fleece to the back of the cage and that has helped a lot. At least this way I don't have to move the cage to sweep behind it so often. As for the sides, I just sweep it up once a day and I'm done. I remember when I had carpet not long ago though and how much of a pain hay and bedding was. I switched to fleece liners and moved into a new apartment with hard wood floors and my life is a heck of a lot easier. :p

lol i was thinking about fitting fleece to the cage but i dont know what would be the best way to attatch it i will do back and sides and leave front open or maybe just do the bottom level of each level in the cage on the front

I use binder clips.

Your chins don't try to take the fleece off? When I lived at my dads house I tacked a sheet on the wall in case they sprayed the wall since it was a new house with WHITE walls and even though they couldn't reach the sheet I always noticed them reaching for the sheet...

Nope. I've had it back there for a few years and it's never moved. Maybe with your chinnies they wanted it just because they couldn't reach it. :p

I used metal screening for screened in porches or screened in windows. I cut it into strips that go up to the first horizontal bar of the cage. This runs all the way around the cage. It works great! I don't have poops or bedding all over the place. It stays in the cage right where it belongs. ;) I attatched it to the inside so that all poops that go flying bounce right back into the cage lol. You can pick up the metal screening at Lowes. It's pretty cheap just make sure you get metal and not the trampoline material looking stuff b/c they'll probably eat that stuff and that probably wouldn't be good. Good luck to you and your poop problems

On our old forum I saw someone who had taken what looked like wooden planks covered in fleece and attached to the walls of the cage. I can't remember if they were outside or inside. And had been drilled with washers and wing nuts to keep them on. Anyone who wants to try that can come to my house and experiment. I have fleece. :neener:
