Hi all i have to take my male chin smokey to vet tomoro to have dentil work done do you think i should also take snowy my other male aswell as there quite close or will they be ok seperate for a few hours.I really dont want to think of the outcome if smokey doesn't survive but if snowy is there would it be a help so he is not so alone and stressed ?Ive asked to be there aswell but they wont let me Really dont no what to do please help.

If it were just a quick trip id say maybe, but since he is going under anesthesia they most likely won't be able to keep them together the whole time anyway. Smokey will be pretty groggy from the anesthesia afterwards so it would be safer for him to be alone after the procedure while recovering. I know it is hard but try not to worry so much and go into it with a positive attitude.

When I had bonded pairs and one was a malo chin, I took them both. Vet cooties were a problem a couple of times and comfort the one gave to the other with cuddling afterward during recovery made it worth it.
That said, it also depends on the chin. Recently I took all three to the vet and only one had the appointment, since the vet was on my way home, and one of the "visitors" had a extreme cow fit while there, he wont be going back if its not needed.
