Playtime locations and sanitation

I know a lot of people have playtime in their bathrooms. Do you ever worry about germs?

Ever since my chinchillas had giardia, I haven't let them out for playtime due to a fear of germs. I clean my bathroom at least once every other week, but I worry about giardia being tracked from the carpet into the bathroom.

Is this something I should be worried about?

I have personally never had a problem with any of my chins getting sick from germs, if I did though, it might change my way of thinking. I just use my bathroom to let them play. I'm always in there to supervise them, but I've never really worried about them getting germs from playtime.

I have always used bathrooms as a play area for any pets. It gets cleaned before and after they are done playing. I really don't have to worry, all pets have vet checked fine, and some people would see the daily cleaning as over kill.

I guess it depends on the health of your pets.
