Found my old playpen from when I was a child and I thought it would be a good little space for my chin Weena to run when I wanted her to get exercise but also wanted her to be contained while I was busy with chores and homework (still in college). Of course, and I knew this would happen, she wants to bit through the mesh on the side and find her way out. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what I could line the sides with. It doesn't even have to come up very high, just about 9" or so....something chin friendly but also something that would allow me to see in and watch her play.

fleece is the only chin safe fabric which obviously isn't see through, and any thing else I can think of wouldn't line the thing well enough to keep her from eating the mesh still (like the hardware cloth stuff). I'd be very careful if this is the type of play pen Im thinking of. Chins can jump pretty high up-even if they haven't realized it yet. So the 3 ft or so most of these things are may not contain her. I'd be extremely worried about that if you aren't constantly watching. A better idea for her to get exercise may be to get her a chinchilla safe wheel. They're a bit expensive but last a long time and with a wheel and a good sized cage a chin doesn't NEED playtime. Although it's still a fun way to spoil them. I prefer the ChinSpin, but the Silver Surfers are also highly recommended (my chin spin is a touch noiser- not by much, but it has a larger running surface and the silver surfer was a pain when I tried to move it on my critter nation- I don't think it's meant for that close together of bars)

i got one of these play pens. (pic is after my girls started pulling it around tho. (I use it for dust baths)
