Just wondering if tractor supply extra fine pine shavings are safe and dried to remove all the oils? Also is the shavings or the flakes are best...thanks!

They should be. My only problem with TSC is that they usually store their shavings outside, so they are often wet in the middle. Then I end up throwing away the shavings which is just a huge waste of money. If you can find someone who stores it inside, that's better. My chins like chewing on flakes in the bigger shavings and I personally find that the super find shavings are really messy.

TSC's "fine" shavings are the equivalent of saw dust. Check inside for Pet's Pick bales. With two chins you shouldn't go through a lot of shavings I wouldn't think. My walmart carries the bales of Pet's Pick and I was running 160 chins on them, they weren't much more per bale than TSC and a lot better product that did a lot better job.

I prefer the flakes over dust. Dust can cause irritation of the eye. I like to buy shavings in a paper bag. I find plastic holds in moisture.

I use the pine flake from TSC, they store them inside so I don't have to worry about them being wet. The flake is better than the dust, easier to clean and less chance of eye issues since its not soo fine.
