My boyfriend has the first gen droid from verizon and its amazing. I have other friends that have blackberrys or iphones and I would get a droid in a heartbeat and if the money permitted it. They are expensive, but worth it. The only thing that is a bit troublesome about them is the key board, I have trouble typing but im sure thats just me ;) They are really easy to use, I figured it out in a couple minutes, and have a long battery life if you dont have the gps, and all that turned on.

On another note if you can I would say get the first one that came out last year not the new one. There really isnt much difference between the 2 and you can update the old one and it might be cheaper anyway.

I have a Droid Eris made by HTC. I absolutely love the Android OS. I like it much better than the iPhone. I do have an issue with the screen keyboard also, but I think it's just my big fingers. The Eris doesn't have an external keyboard, but the regular Droid does. I do have to charge the phone multiple times a day, but you can order double batteries off eBay for $10 or so to make it last longer.

My husband and I got the first generation Droid the same day it came out. We even broke our previous contract with AT&T so we could get them, that's how hardcore he was about wanting it haha. I do like that it has an external keyboard because I'm just not as good at typing on the touch screen. I love how much you can personalize it and the operating system is nice. They were quite pricey and on mine the external keyboard ended up coming unglued in the middle from my marathon texting haha, but I got it replaced for free because it was covered by warranty. I also like how it feels sturdy, I've dropped it plenty of times and wasn't afraid of it breaking. As for the battery, I use it a lot for texting and internet surfing and I end up charging it twice a day, but there are some apps that help with battery life and like Tiffany mentioned you could get an extra one.

I don't know about the newer version, I don't think it's much different, but if I had to do it all over again I would definitely get this one. I've had several other phones including a blackberry and this one has to be the one I've liked the most.

I used to have a Palm Treo when they first came out. I hated it, the touch screen would always call people when I didn't want it to, and the "internet" was a joke.

I have the HTC Aria which is an android phone through AT&T. I love it although the battery is pretty crappy.
I have a Mac so really debated about getting an iPhone or not. In the end I could get the Aria for $50 cheaper and I really liked the size and customization much better. It is very easy to use, light as a feather and a well though out piece of technology.
It's a bummer I can't sync it with my Mac (yet) but it's my new favorite toy - and I love being able to connect to the internet WHENEVER I want!

I also wanted to add, some of the Droids had an issue with the touch screen not going on standby when you were making a call so it would dial numbers with your face and hang up on people, it happened with my husband's and he got it replaced through the warranty and it didn't happen again. I know all phones have their flaws but the Droid to me seems pretty good overall. I had a Blackberry Storm for less than a year and had to replace it twice and still had problems, and it ate through the battery super fast and I didn't have GPS on it and rarely used the internet.

I have a Nokia Nuron, it's their first touch screen. I got it when they initially came out in the spring. It seems to have a few bugs though as it has randomly turned off when on stand by...or I could have sworn I had it locked. It's sleek and fits into most of my pockets easily, but I also have hip dialed the first person in my phonebook cuz of the way I put it in my pocket. It has a slide to use to have it locked to prevent such things. I just put my voicemail as my first number by putting AA infront of it so now if I do it, its just my voicemail.

It's easy to use for me. I love being able to customize what applications I have on my home screen. Their app store isn't as lavish as others yet since its under its own system though. I can get 2 days out of a charge with a good amount of internet usage/texting/calls. If I am super heavy on using it I just have to charge overnight. If I only do a few things a day on it I can go 3 or 4 days without charging.

i also have the droid eris, got it in december. i love the "concept" of the phone but i hate the phone. i want to throw it against the wall. i have an ipod touch and the touch on the ipod is SO much better than the droid eris. the only thing i like is that it isnt as huge and heavy as the regular droid. i do have a charger in my car and need to use it almost every day because i use my phone so much that it dies kinda quick. it has definitely come in handy many many times i just hate the touch screen on it

I had an Eris for about 5 months, loved the android stuff, it was amazing, the games were fun, loved the google maps, loved just about everything except the touch screen. I hated it for that reason. I don't know if it was my fingers or what, but half the time I couldn't answer the phone, dial or anything. I would be swiping and swiping and nothing. My husband loved his and didn't have any problems. Sold it and bought a razr which is easier, but i miss the maps and goodies sometimes.

I have a Droid 1 (D1), my girlfriend has a Droid 2 (D2) and most of my friends have the Droid X (DX). Out of the three that I have played with the Prefer the DX an wish I could upgrade to it now, but I'm locked into my D1 for another year still.

I wouldn't hesitate owning any of the three phones. They are all super sweet. But the D1 and DX both have faster processors and more on-board memory which makes them quite a bit faster than my phone. If you were wondering anything else about them lemme know. I could ramble on for awhile about them lol!
