I saw this on Today this morning - they are looking to ban pet sales - primarily would apply to cats and dogs, but guniea pigs, birds and chinchillas were mentioned as possibly being included because they too end up in shelters when no one wants them. South Lake Tahoe and West Hollywood passed such laws within the last 18 months; in Texas, Austin and El Paso are considering similar ones.

I think this is bringing a machine gun to a knife fight. If the original purpose is to prevent puppy mills this seems overkill to me.:wacko:
