that setup is akin to the tiny novelty betta bowls (aka torture bowls) they sell for bettas. personally, i think it's cruel to put any living creature in an environment that is too small for it. 7 gallons isn't very big, even though the tank is designed properly for a jellyfish (no corners for jellyfish to get stuck in). the one jellyfish on their site they have recommended for this tank gets up to 12 inches. a 12 inch creature in a tank that is only 6 inches taller and 4 inches wider than the creature...... :(

saltwater can be tricky to keep stable as far as salinity and water parameters go. the smaller the tank, the more swing in water chemistry (less room for dilution means more chance for pollution). i've been doing freshwater tanks for 4 years now, and i know i'm not ready to jump into saltwater yet, not knowledgeable enough. maybe a few more years and i'll start up at least a 20 gallon salt tank.

I personally would leave the jellyfish in the ocean, and leave this tank sitting on the shelf at the store.

Yes, I read a write-up on these tanks in Wired magazine awhile ago. I think they look so cool! Did you check out the tab with their custom work? Amazing.

that's a much better idea smhufflepuff! either do that if you want to look at 'jellyfish' or get a large tank that can support the real live thing properly.
