Finally found a way to get rid of my chinchilla poo/savings. I thought it was a long shot, but listed it on Craigslist for compost. I have a lady who will take it ALL each week! We'll see how long it lasts, but sure beats breaking my back to take it to the dump! :dance3:

We give most of ours to a truck farm and they come and pick it up. We also use it on our own garden as do a lot of our neighbors. Its great fertilizer.

I toss mine in the back yard..I have 3 dogs out there pooping everywhere..whats a little chin pooh gonna hurt..lol! I am bad!

With or without the pine chips? If without chips, how do you sort it?
Does it give your tomatoes any kind of taste?
What's it worth?
Now I wish I had the 3000 55 gal. bags I pitched!

I have a small city yard, so could only use so much myself. I just listed it as pine with chin poo and hay mixed in! Of course mentioning it's as good as rabbit poo probably helped too! LOL Mine's all just mixed, no sorting.
Here I had been having hubby take it to the dump and paying to get rid of it!
Not sure what it would improve on the taste of your tomatoes but mine are tasty! My rhodies which are also acid lovers are gorgeous!
Someone on another forum said they sell Rabbit poo for $6 a bag.

OMG I am gonna start a little side business...selling chin pooh..with 6 of them I can gather quite a bit of pooh in a week and I don't use litter..just liners so I can just shake it off in a bucket..lol!

Ever since someone mentioned "little brown tic tacs" ..I've been trying to think of a good use for the poo. This is perfect! I have 3 kinds of fert now.. chicken, cavy and chin!

Not to mention if you put it in old tic-tac containers - ALL NATURAL TIC-TACS $2.00 at a garage sale! No free samples!

I am so going to do that LOL...I could have bags and bags of chinchilla poop right now it gets spread with horse manure

We use it as mulch in the garden and then compost the rest of it. I would throw it in the dog yard but they really like to eat chinnie poo!

Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

I never even thought of it. I vacuum them up and put them in the garbage and dust out my liners in the front yard. The liners are always filled with spilled hay too. Maybe I'll start emptying the vacuum in my garden come spring.

Oh man, I should start doing this! Just charge them for the bags it takes me to put the stuff in. This is a great idea.
