okay so i'm trying to decide between one of those pop-up playpens or a pop up tent.
This is the tent
its 83.5” H x 51.6 W x 50.4 L and $55.60 with shipping

This is the playpen I found.
50” W x 50” D x 32” H and $76.63 with shipping

or I could go with the cardboard but I dont really know what size I should get or how many. :/

also, any ideas for fun objects to put in the playpen. Preferably ones I could just make myself.

Let me know what you think!!!!

you could get a metal playpen online a little cheaper it has about 8 sides to it and it makes into a circle at petco.there is one on sale59.99

I have the petco pen and it isnt big enough, i would get 2 or put it up against the cage to make it bigger. I have the expansion pack and I put it to the edges of the cage to make a huge enclosure.

Tents even in cool rooms can get warm, and the chin will only chew on it, not to mention when they go to surf on the walls they are not going to like the outcome.

Good idea but I dont think IMO it is feesable.

If your chin is a big climber like mine i would say go with the cardboard, there is a link on here how to make them and where to get the stuff from

I have that ware pop-up playpen that I use and LOVE, it comes with a zip top and detachable bottom that you can throw in the wash, here are a few pics of my boys in it plus the stock pic from petco

Before the house was chinproofed we all played in a play tent kinda like that one. I found at a garage sale for $10. They actually loved it, and loved wall-surfing on it.

I'm copying/pasting this I just posted in another thread:

I use cardboard from papermate. It works great. Here's the original thread: http://www.chins-n-hedgies.com/forum...read.php?t=313

Here's the papermart link, get the 2x4. http://www.papermart.com/Product P...pID=18927#4652

My girls have never jumped out unless they climb on me first. It comes with a lot of cardboard, so there's a whole lot of space.

I have a couple medium sized cardboard boxes I cut a couple holes in and my girls love to play in those when they're in the playpen.

I don't use neither of them.
I just block off all the exits.

But i'd go for the cardboard as it's cheap and you can make their play area as big as you want!

I bought this hideous looking tent :

http://www.amazon.com/Pacific-Play-...FDFI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1250353942&sr=8-3

because it has mesh sides and two people can fit in there with them (obviously one of us has to be in there to discourage chewing). I put sheets on the bottom (will replace with fleece soon). There were some threads I had to trim when I got it and still watch out for. Sometimes I sit at the opening, but that usually makes them try to get out. It is better than a regular tent because of the mesh on all sides. It is an ugly color though. I will have to say, Bunny loves to wall surf and I have to pull it away from hard objects so she doesn't head-butt into something other than tent. It may not be the best, but I needed something quickly. I don't do bathroom play....I just don't think it is the best. If it is clean enough...one has probably used harsh chemicals. I wish I had a room for them....I live in a 1 bedroom apt and have to chill the whole open living/dining and the tent is in front of my couch! The Chins have taken over :)
