I've got one chinchilla and I was thinking about making fleece liners for his cage soon, but I also wanted to have some bedding in a container where he pees so I can cut down on smell. The problem is he doesn't have just one pee corner, he has three or four depending on his mood. Is there a way to encourage him to pee in one or two specific corners? Because it's not really reasonable to have three or four pyrex dishes in the bottom of his cage.

Additionally, is there a specific brand of aspen bedding that you'd recommend? Is Kaytee aspen bedding ok?

you could start with a pyrex in each corner, then slowly remove one at a time (say one a week) until you are down to just the one pyrex. he may or may not get accustomed to only peeing in the pyrex, but it's worth a try, eh?

i've never used any kaytee products, but i would think as long as their aspen is kiln dried it would be fine.

Put it in one maybe 2corners than put something else in the other corners. Only 2 of my cages have 2 litter boxes the others only have 1 . For my guys it seems that over time they seem to use it more and more. Some cages I dump every nite others I can go every other.
The bedding I use is from the feed store. Big bags for like 6 dollars. Usually white pine. The brand that I usually get is Robbins. My feed store had gone thru many lumber yards and some I just hate & others get the job done great!

Yeah, he seemed to have a primary pee corner but the last couple weeks he's been favoring two and seems to urinate more since we got him a better water bottle (vs. the leaky plastic one that he came with). I'm not even sure if he'll be ok with fleece, he seems to have a tendency to chew on fabric that he comes in contact with on occasion during playtime, so I was going to make a little cuddle buddy for him and see if he can handle it before I spend money on a bunch of fleece for liners.
