Well, I am almost absolutely certain this was not there yesterday. I noticed just a minute ago when I leaned in the cage that his fur seemed a lil funny on his face, but combed over, so until I spread it out with my finger I didn't notice how big the patch was. It's not dry, or scratched, and doesn't appear to have any infection. Just looks like....a patch of missing fur. They were let out for play time last night for about an hour or so, and I only briefly looked in this morning before I went to work.

Like I said, it doesn't look infected and there are no scratches, so I don't know if he bumped his face on something or what. Or maybe him and his cage mate got into a scuffle. Here's a pic if anyone can give me a clue: It doesn't look like fungus but I want to see if anyone has an opinion.

Thanks.

Yeah, I thought it was in an odd spot too. And I'm almost absolutely certain that was not there yesterday before they went into the cage after play time, but then again, I didn't look at them when I put them away last night after play time and I barely noticed it today. It looks huge because I spread it out with my finger when I noticed a weird twitch to the fur on his face. It's not irritated or anything and I've never had fungus infections before.

I live in a rather dry climate so I limited dust bath's to once/twice a week or else they get dry skin. Should I try throwing in a lil bit of anti-fungus foot powder just in case?

It's in a real weird spot to me. Usually I've had some slippage between chinnie scuffles but that usually takes place around the butt. Ive never seen a patch missing from the face. But he's a weird boy, I'll tell you that.

Marty has exactly the same thing. It happened about 2 weeks ago. The only thing I can think of is he put his face through the cage bars and got a little bit stuck or something. There is no sign of a scratch or fungus just a clump of fur missing.
