painting my room, i need your help! =P

ok guys, i need your help!
i am re-doing my room around and i am going to paint it a new color. right now it is a very bright orange i love it, but its time for a change :neener:
so heres where i need the help, i cant decide if i want to paint it Green.. or Purple... OR! if i should do both. like every other wall,"Green, purple, green, purple,.. like that. HAHA i love both colors. and im geting a headach trying to figure this out :wacko: so i just thought id see what you all think :dance3:
oh, and the trim and Furniture is all black
let me know what ya think =D

I like purple. I think it would look cool half and half though. I hope you pick lighter colors, my sister once painted her room neon orange and neon green, you seriously needed sunglasses to be in her room! It was really ugly too, and made the room look smaller. I picked a lavendar color and it was really pretty. I picked a color I loved and had them match it at the store. That was fun. Or, you can do purple, and then paint green leaves and vines and stuff on the corners or something...they have very pretty stensils and stuff like that for very cool looking walls!

I would go with a really pale green. My roommate and I did that back when I was in high school in my dorm (went to a private school where I had to live on campus). It was so relaxing and made the room look larger than it actually was.

My house had all of the above in it, got rid of the eye popping orange when I moved in.

Went with green, all 6 colors of it on the paint swatch from light to dark. Still got a purple room though, haven't quite gotten to the bedrooms to repaint.

Here's the link so you can see what happens when you use bold colors. They can be used for good, just scary, or people killing. The previous owner's wall covering choices bordered on killer - literally.

I had an orange room as a teenager and LOVED it. My daughter painted her bedroom purple and green when she lived with me. It was pretty bright and obnoxious but she loved it. I like the idea of purple walls and green vine stencils. Great idea.

those are my 2 favorite colors! although i never thought they went together in the deeper hues...........but maybe a lavender & pale green, .
my living room is green, sorta a light sage & it looks great with black furniture.

I'd go with purple, light purple/lavender can look great. I'm not fond on pale green.

I love how the difference of color makes the rooms look so much bigger! Good job so far on the house (I have the same stove you do... >.>)

I tend to think that darker/bolder colors can make a room seem smaller; that's probably at least partly why they say to only do one wall in a bright accent color and the rest of the walls in something paler. *shrug* Partly it's going to depend on how big the room is, and partly on what you like - I like pale colors and bright light, but some people like darker colors and closing the window blinds all the time. It's a matter of personal preference. I suppose at absolute worst case, you can repaint?

Pale green would look great... but leave the ceiling white or a lighter version of the green you used. It will make the room look bigger and brighter, and give the impression of high ceilings.

Or do pale green with violet flowers and darker green vines! That would be really pretty too. Now I want to paint my room!

haha thanks everyone! this is so hard to pick! everyones ideas are good!
i am kind of leaning more to doing two purple walls and two green...
but then again the colors i like are on th darker side, and i deffinitly dont want to make my room look smaller! lol i went and got a few differint color samples to paint on my walls so we will see how that goes
and i guess if worst comes to worst and i hate it all... ill just paint them WHITE! hahaha xD
