Paint?

I'm thinking of redoing my chinchillas closet which is where all their supplies is stored for the most part. Toys, Food, Dust, Extra Bedding, etc...

I was thinking about repainting it and having my Dad to build some cube shelves in there.

Can I paint the closet with the chins in the room?

Paint it with a no VOC paint and the chins can stay.

I know almost nothing about paint, so can you explain to me what no VOC paint is?

I'm assuming you mean it has no odor.

When I searched the Lowes website in the descriptions I see "Zero VOC and low odor"? Is that correct?

VOC= Volatile Organic Compound. It's what you smell when you open a can of paint. Go to Ace, Lowes, Home Depot, True Value ect and ask for a low VOC paint. You will still need to let the room air out before putting the chins back in there.

So if it has zero voc then the chins can stay in the room or have to be removed?

I would still remove them just to be on the safe side. You can never be too safe. But if you open the window in the room I would say after 2-3 hours it would be safe to put then back in.
