I've been buying the Oxbow bedding for my chins and I really like it. Well I just read that Oxbow is discontinuing it so I can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions on new bedding that does a good job and is safe for chins?

I love the shavings at Walmart. Honest to God, I think it's some of the best I've ever bought. Unfortunately, way too small of bags for the money for my beasts. I won't buy from Tractor Supply. They store their shavings outside in the rain. I would find somewhere where they store them inside. As long as they are kiln dried pine, you are good to go.

I use Kaytee kiln dried pine. I'm not a fan of kaytee, but it is what my local feed sells. My cages all have fleece liners and litter pans. Shavings for me are minimal.

If Oxbow discontinues their food, I'm in trouble.

i never seen any of them stored outside at my TS in jersey or in PA

Godofgods - If you buy from a normal sized TSC, then yes, they do store them outside. Every TSC I have ever been to (in SD, NE, IA, and MN) does. They will flat out tell you they don't have room to store pallets of shavings inside their store. They put them behind the building.

I don't know the prices at other stores, but if you can stand to give them any money Petco has MONSTER bags of aspen shavings for $12.09. The bag says the 2 cubic foot bag expands to 56.6 liters when fluffed out.
