So, yesterday, my bf and I decided we wanted to go offroading in this place a friend of his was telling him about, because a lot of the places that used to be open are rocked in now due to kids getting back in them and doing stupid stuff, like leaving trash, tires, etc behind. So, we get to this new place, and have a blast. There was a set of mudholes we saw, but didn't want to go through and get stuck without having something to pull us out. So, we go back to his place, get a towing strap and the come-along and stuff to pull us out in case we get stuck. Well, we get back to the spot, I roll my window up and hold my breath, and we make it through the hole fine. Awesome! We're driving back to the holes that are behind that, and see some guys coming through on 4wheelers. Keith asks how deep it gets and the guys tell us it gets pretty deep, we'd be better off turning around and heading back out to the other holes... So... The group on 4wheelers leaves us, after the one guy tells us there's a whole that comes up to about his chest-armpit area (he's gotta be around 6'). Keith looks at me, gets out and pokes at the hole in front of us with a stick... says as long as he stays to the side, we can make it through. Ok... We drive through, passenger side leaning pretty good, but we make it! YES! Keith figures that was the hole the guy was talking about, especially since the next hole wasn't deep at all. Come to another hole... Keith gets out, pokes it with a stick. Again, if we stay along the edge! Well. we're almost out of the hole when the jeep slides... Awww crap! He puts it in 4Low and tries backing out, we're making it, til the rear tire slides again... Drive forward a little and we're stuck... Nice and good. Jeep's tilted to the passenger side, I feel my foot getting wet... Keith pulls me over his lap and pushes me out of the jeep, climbs out behind me. He's pulling the towing strap and stuff out of the jeep, along with my purse, sweater and phone (isn't he so sweet?), as one of the guys on the 4wheelers comes back. He has this "I told you so" look on his face, asks why we didn't go through the smaller hole to the left and Keith tells him he thought that was the "Deep hole" (uh huh). So, we tie the jeep up to a tree so it doesn't tip over into the puddle, while the guy goes back to get his friends, and then goes to get his truck... We got out, Jeep was perfectly fine, aside from a little water inside...

Just wanted to share this weekend's fun with you! And yes, I have pics!

We had a blast, and hope to not do it again anytime soon! (the getting stuck part that is... at least, not without another truck to pull us out! LOL)

Awww so sorry that happened to you - but that's a pretty awesome adventure you had there :) Sounds like something my family would do, honestly. I thought only people from the south went and and did crazy things in the mud.

Hahaha! Heck no, we had a blast, and honestly I'm not sorry. It was fun. It's the whole reason he bought the jeep for $500, so he'd have something to beat around and screw off in. Had the jeep slid 6 more inches, though, and we'd have been screwed cuz the jeep would have tipped. Keith found a longer stick, poked in, and it sank about a foot to the right of the passenger side. He looks at me and goes "I guess I didn't poke far enough..." I rolled my eyes and laughed. And supposedly, he said the jeep doesn't stink today. We'll find out when he picks me up later rofl

That so reminds me of growing up in Minnesota- the boys go "mudding" as a sport. I have seen more trucks ruined that you would think! So funny, but it honestly does look fun.

Well I am speechless! First of all I love how casually you whip the bf comment in there! Next I hope you weren't wearing your new cowboy boots LOL! After that I hope the mudding day wasn't the day you decided to go girlie girl and wear that skirt and red stick I was telling you about it!!! LOL and LOL!
What a nice guy that Keith is, I TOLD you that was a totally acceptable name!
And last but not least nice butt on him too!
Glad you guys were ok, had fun and came through unscathed.

Lol Laurie! No, we were originally supposed to be going fishing, so I was in jeans, old shoes, basically crap clothes. I told him if he goes to Uncle Bob's with me next weekend, I'll wear a skirt. Maybe. And isn't it nice? I like it myself... Hahaha

that looks like fun, my fiance' would be jealous. we have a jeep, of course ours is lifted a bit but we would have probably gotten stuck too!

Glad you ahd fun! I remember when I first met my husband he had a Jeep Wrangler that he loved to strip in the summers (just the base of the jeep on wheels)! I'm a little bit of a girly girl so I hated riding in it when he did this but I must admit I laughed my butt off when he got stuck in the dunes in Michigan heehee.

My husband would love all that. I am more of a sit back and laugh at him getting stuck kind of girl

Lol I did laugh my butt off... Once I was out of the jeep and on dry ground :D He wants to go back tonight and do it again (without going through that particular set of puddles... haha)

When you wear that skirt (with red lipstick) next weekend you better post some pictures! And I'm not joking!

You need a winch, oh and next time try plopping a medium sized rock in the puddle. That's my preferred method for determining the depth of puddles.

Yeah, he wants to get a winch, lift it, get mud tires, get a safari rack, brush guards, etc etc etc... Just needs the money first. And we didn't go get stuck today. But I will attach pics of the REAL reason I'm with him... Isn't Shadow adorable!? And there's a good shot of his face. Haha browsing ebay and CL for jeep parts  lol

Lol Laurie! That's just what I want him to think. I'm totally in it for the dog.. Shadow is so gonna be "mine" when we get to the move in stage. I can see it now. He listens to me no problem and follows me around the house
