Burrito only likes to be scratched when his is in a specific spot in his cage (a little tube). If I try to scratch him anywhere else he will run away or give me a nip, even if it is still in his cage! I am just wondering if any other chinchillas are like this or if its just Burrito. Thanks.

He is so young he may think you are going to eat him yet and only feels safe in the tube.

I am sure with patience and love he will love to be scritched anytime :D

Fuzzy has certain spots he would rather be, so he can move all around so you get every inch of him, although if he is out for playtime, he does not want to be touched. He will give us the stink eye, like, um Mom, Im playing, back off! lol

Chins are so fickle, some of mine like my hand to come over the top of them, some only like it to come under, honestly people think I am a nut when I say "make sure you pat her on top of her head, she doesn't like it under her chin unless you come from the side and get way under her first" lol, seriously, they are all so different! Your chinnie may still be getting used to you and feel safer in the tube, trust me, they will let you know what they like and don't and you'll follow their rules ;).
