Not to long ago i look off the shelf liner on my shelf in the FN cage. The self that their hut was on.

Chico usually slept in his hut almost all of the time. But since having to take it off, he has been sleeping in some strange places (for him).
He tried his tube multiple times, which he usually doesn't mess with much. And hes been laying around in the open more. But it was quite a surprise when he chose what seems to be his 'new spot'. He seems to have fallen in love with sleeping in his corner litter pan. Sometimes he sit up sleeps, some times flat on his side all stretched out across the litter. And he keeps going back to it. Yesterday after i changed all the litter pans and waited till i was done, and came right back down and hoped back in. And its always the same corner pan. (theirs four corner pans on bottom.)

Today was a bit different tho.. kinda..
I woke up and came out to find chico, and his son Houdini, both standing side by side, sleeping in the litter pan together. Lets just hope their keeping it clean. (Times like these i rly wish i had a camera)

Side note: i have new shelf liners ordered. Well see if anything changes once they get here.

Awwwww! It doesn't sound comfy, but it does sound awfully cute! And Houdini is a good duy to keep him company, lol!

yea, they do that with each other a lot. They just stand right next to each other and relax.

Well i installed the shelf liners i got last night. So day #1 and they are both sleeping in their hut on the new liner! (Which certainly sounds more comfortable then sleeping on aspen shavings)

My guy has been doing that as well... with no changes made to his cage. Loves sleeping in his litter pan on the aspen bedding. Is this normal???

I don't know about normal. But considering all the strange places and positions iv seen mine sleep in over the years, I'm not sure anything can be considered normal. lol

Since putting in the new fleece shelf liner, my boys have not slept in the litter pan once, that iv seen.

If your guy is sleeping in their as well Kelly, the one thing i would suggest (as I'm sure you already realized) would just be to keep the litter pan/shavings clean. Maybe try giving him something more comfortable to go after.

My little guy literally pees in his fleece bed and poops everywhere except in his litter, as that's where he likes to sleep. Total weirdo. lol
