So I'm a nursing student at my community college. The program works so that you take anatomy, microbiology and all that fun stuff the first two semesters and then apply to the nursing program and do nursing the last four semesters. So ideally I hope to get into nursing in the fall. However, it's really competitive and I basically need straight A's to be guaranteed in. Normally I'm a great student but I've been stressing myself out sooo much. I'm in anatomy & physiology and I had my second exam today. My first exam I got an 89 (UGH! just missed an A) so I studied sooo hard for this one to make sure I get atleast above a 90. I thought I did well at first but now I keep second guessing myself! Thinking about all the questions and answers I put and just basically thinking I did terribly. My teacher posts the grades by 6:00 tonight so I'm just sitting here freaking out. I really want to be a nurse practitioner and I don't want to delay my schooling too much so I'm working so hard but just terribly stressed and anxious!

Sorry, I just really needed to vent. Nobody needs to reply just trying to calm my nerves a bit I suppose.

I'd have to say, probably the more you stress out about it, the worse it will be. I mean, if you stress out, you're less likely to do well on the exams. I know that probably doesn't help, but just try not to stress out about it, life's too short.

I understand. I had to register for my final semester of school (next fall) today and nothing is going right! I only have one, 12-credit class to take. I'm going for child development so this class is the school's version of an internship on their campus daycare. There is a morning shift and an afternoon shift. I was accepted into the morning shift and have been emailing the director to make sure I get into that one, so I still have time to work. However, today when I went to register, I was having problems and it wouldn't let me into the morning shift, but only the afternoon shift! And I can't get ahold of anybody to straighten it out for me and I spent 20 minutes waiting on the phone with financial aid to figure out my loans and grants for my final semester and I still can't get ahold of anyone for that either! UGH! It's been one of those days for me too.

its so true. the thing is I don't stress before the exams because I study really hard and I feel confident, but then afterwards while I wait for my grade I just let my head go loose and I freak out. Ugh, oh well nothing I can do now, right?

Chrisy, I feel ya. Sometimes colleges are just so annoying with registration and everything I wanna strangle someone! haha but i'm sure it will all work out ;)

Kim - I did the same thing. AFTER the exams I would be so anxious even if I know that I knew the material. It's been YEARS since I have been in school and I still have these horrific nightmares about forgetting to study for a class, missing tests, etc.

oh good Susan atleast I'm not the only one! haha I have really bad general anxiety and that probably adds to it but I'll probably be having dreams like that years from now too! Do they freak you out? Like waking up nervous and stuff?!

Good news is, i checked my grade and I got a 93. I'm thrilled with myself! My professor also added a point to everyone's grade from last exam because one of the questions he made a mistake...so i got a 90 on that test! only one more test to go and I'm in the clear for an A :dance3:
