Hello everybody, my name is Luke. I have two Chinchillas and a 105 lbs dog. My dog is named Miles and the Chins are named Smokey and Lucky. Lucky got his name just recently because of two different happenings.
Just over a week ago I woke up to Lucky making a horrible sound. I ran to the cage and saw Lucky's nose was bald and raw looking. I rushed him to the vet and he ended up spending 3 nights there. His nose swelled up so much that he couldn't breathe. He had to breath through his mouth. The vet thinks that it was an insect or a spider bite that caused his problem.
I brought him home last Wednesday and he was not well. I gave him his meds every 12 hours. Saturday night I gave him his meds and he was fine. I woke up Sunday morning, less than 4 hours after I last saw him, and he was out of the cage. I searched on my hands and knees for at least 30 minutes looking for him. Then I walked into my bedroom, where me and my 105 lbs dog sleep, and Lucky was sitting in the middle of the room. He didn't even try to run when I went to pick him up.
That is why his name is Lucky
