Hello everybody.
I am Anna and I live in NJ. Love my two chinchilla: Kelly and Sammy. They are the only pets I have. Kelly has been with usfor more then 5 years and Sammy 4. Kelly is a beautiful girl but she has a major health issue. Sammy is as healthy as he can be. Yes, you guessed it right Kelly came from pet store, Sammy from a private breeder.

Hi Anna, welcome to the forum! Sorry about your Kelly. What's the matter with her? Are Kelly and Sammy caged together? Please let us know how we can help.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sorry to hear about your Kelly, as Sandi said let us know if there are any questions regarding her health we can answer for you.

Hi and welcome!! I hope you can figure something out with your chin, Kelly. Maybe you can learn more about her issue here.

I didn't know much about chinchillas when we got Kelly. For months she was just happy chin but one day she started to just cry. The doctors visit was an eye opening experience and she was diagnosed with Molocclusion. It sounded life thretening to me. He trimmed her teeth gave her medication and kept her in the hospital for 3 days. We picked her home, she started to look healthy and happy again and we though she was cured. But every 3 months we have to go to her dr. and trimm those teeth. A year ago she got a vey bad infection and since then she has been on and off on antibiotis and pain killers. She can't shack off the infection and dr. does everything he can to keep her alive. I just feel sorry for her couse I don't know if she suffers and if she is heppy.
Sammy and Kelly are not caged together.
Thank you guys for such a warm welcome

I think I just lost my post when I explained Kellys problem. In short she was diagnosed with molocculusion and she's been on and off on antibiotics and pain killers for more then 2 years. I wonder if anyone of you heard about life with these disease.
Sammy and Kelly are not caged together, they never were.

Hi and welcome! Since you're a new member, your posts will not show up right away. I think an administrator must approve the first few before they are posted for everyone to see. You can find a lot of useful information in the Chin New Owner Questions section:

Sorry to hear about your Kelly. Many chin owners here have experience with Malocclusion so you can probably post your questions in this section:

Thank you Sdo9396.
I looks to me like you are a new member also. I love the idea of communicating with other chins' owners, hear about their experience and learn from them.

Home alone

:)Hello everybody
I would like to know if it is safe to leave my two chins by themselfs for one night. They would be ofcourse supplied with food and hay, but I wonder if they would be scared. When we go out to dinner we always leave the lights and radio on but the whole night I am not sure.
