I just got this cage the other day and cleaned it. I built a fleece tube and a make shift hammock for now. Let me know what you think. I am working on shelves.

Looks good, so far!
If you cover that wire shelf and ramps with 1/4 x 1/4 hardware screen, you'll greatly reduce the chance of legs and feet getting caught and broken!
I've found covering the shelf, either lengthwise or widthwise or both, with 1 x ? pine, not only gives then a comfortable resting place, but prevents "golden showers" below! Also gives them something good to chew!
Good luck!

The inside wire is smaller than the outside wire. I put in some fleece for them to lay on. They are up and down the cage. They are really enjoying the space.

I noticed it was smaller - but still dangerous! Looks like 1 x 1/2.
Just put accidents in the search box and read all about it - only cure for a broken limb is $1200 amputation!
Hardware cloth is cheap insurance!

Wow looks like a great cage, its massive. How many chins live in it?

spoiled

two chins live in the cage. it is 4ft tall with three floors. I got it on craigslist for $60 and adding stuff to it. I have a third chin but he is only 3months old so we are building him a new one. My family is really getting into chinchilla cage building. lol!

I used Wizard of Oz fleece because that is my favorite movie. I have everyone involved with making stuff.
