So I got Evie on Friday night and had a fun weekend with her my friend Lorenzo checked her out and pet her my mom called her a rat and Evie hissed like Oh **** no! my question is when does she stop getting skiddish around me and stops trying to provoke me?

What is she doing to 'provoke' you? She's probably scared because she's in a new environment. Try leaving her in her cage for a few days. For the first few days just sit by the cage and talk to her. For the next few days stick your hand in the cage and let her come sniff you. Slowly progress to scritching her. She'll come around eventually but you have to be patient. If you push her too fast she may always be scared and never learn to trust you. I know it's hard to wait, because we want to play with our new babies, but patience really wins in the long run.

I agree with Brittany. A new environment is pretty scary, so try not to introduce too much, too quickly. Leave her in her cage, and sit next to it and talk to her, and get her used to you and feeling comfortable around you. When she is a bit more settled, you can open up her cage and allow her to check you out. Sit on the floor (inside a pen or chin - proof room) and let her come up to you, climb on you...if you get gentle nibbles, that's a good sign. Patience is the key.
