I just got a chin from an old highschool friend. She bought it for her kids at the end of Nov. from petsmart. They already got tired of it and she was rehoming him. I was lucky enough to get him and all his supplies. Our kids adore him as do we. She said he was only a few months old.

Would be do better alone or with a friend? He seems to have taken to my 5 year old already. I wouldn't want to get another and they fight all the time. With him being male is it better to get another male or a female? (Yes I understand what happens if you put a male and female together lol).

Thanks for your time,
Tonia

There is always a possibility of them not getting along. Chins can be very hard to bond and you may end up with two singles. If you do decide to get another, get a male. However keep in mind you may a lot of work getting them bonded and may end up with two single chins. Or, they may bond, but decide down the road to fight and you'll have to separate. Chins are fine living on their own as long as you give them attention.

Thank you. I think we will stick with one for now. Our kids adore him so he gets more than enough attention. Lol. We will be giving him his first dust bath today and the kids can't wait. He is just too cute not to love!

Thanks so much,
Tonia

As Stackie said, they are just fine on their own, with attention from their human. My little guy lives on his own, and he is clearly happy. :)

Congrats on the new chin! They are just wonderful little pets. :heart5:

Aww glad all is well and the kids love him! So important for them to become a part of the family - and totally agreed, do not take in another unless you're willing to have them live separately, as introductions are never guaranteed to work.
