Good afternoon,

I am a soon to be new chin owner. I have his massive, fully loaded house ready to go with toys and everything. I've done my research but something that has eluded me was the concern about plastic shelves and ramps. I have a big big tall metal cage ready but it has plastic shelves and ramps. I've read different opinions on this. Some say when given enough proper chew toys and things to chew on, the chin won't bother with the plastic components. Others say it's a disaster waiting to happen.

I'm looking for a non-bias response to my concern and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm supposed to bring my little buddy home tomorrow morning and I really don't feel like deconstructing a whole cage, boxing it back up, returning it, and pushing back my pick up date. I've grown attached!

Looking for your expertise. :high5:

Just replace the plastic with pine shelves. Some chins son's mess with the plastic for years or at all. The problem is that once they start chewing it, and they can at any time, the plastic can be deadly becasue they swallow it and it can cause a blockage.
