I'm getting my chin soon and i'm not sure what the best stuff to get for her will be, and how to set it up.

I'm getting one female chin and i'm getting a three teir cage that is all wire.

Please help, and thanks!

I wish more people are like you, doing the research and prep before you get the chin. Kudo's to you!

alot of people on this site will sell you the supplies you need.
i recomend covering any wire that the chins would walk/ stand on with fleece. wire can hurt their feet.

also ledges are great things for a chin cage.
same with hammocks, houses, wood chew toys, a water bottle, hay bin/box/bowl.
toys/chews and ect are very important to keep their teeth short and healthy.

wood shavings or fleece cage liners are important. i use fleece cage liners and a large ceramic bowl filled with wood shavings as a litterbox for my chins.
i reccomend either mazuri pellets or oxbow pellets. (i use oxbow) make sure you have lots of hay for it to eat.

alot of the toys and such from petco and other store arent the best for your chin. safe woods are apple cottonwood elm kiln-dried pine grapevine pear pecan poplar willows mulbery sycamore. there are many others to.
as a general rather important rule no plastics. its can be harmful to chins.

also be careful when feeding treats. give them very sparingly. healthy treats can include oats, dried rose petals, dried rose hips, chin cookies, twigs, and select herbs. (many people here sell such treats)
dried fruits aren't good for your chin due to the fact they dont process sugar basicaly at all. so its generaly frowned upon to give chins them. even though they go nuts for them.

also no fresh veggies chins aren't like bunnies all that extra water in the veggies isn't good for them. it can cause serious digestive problems.

chins need dust baths at least once a week. i recommend blue cloud dust. most of the time the dust sold in petstores isn't the best quality for your pet.

when your chin is older than 6 months they will/should be let out for play time to expend their energy. i usualy let mine out in a play pen for 1-2 hours.
if you dont have a playpen. i must stress chins need supervision and they will chew and get into everything. so you must "chin proof" the room they play in.

if your chin is male you should periodically do hair ring checks. im not a good person to explain or tell about that due to the fact i only have female chins.

well that's all i can think of at the moment but i recommend you still look all over this site there is tons of helpful information and helpful people. everyone here know what it is like to be a new chin owner and are willing to help you out.

hope i was helpful :) sorry about the wall of text.
