New Chin Owner - Behavior Question

HELLO new here .....was wondering I have a male and female chinchilla but lately my male is being so aggressive to me...he will bite me when I pick him up and when I try to hold him runs off like crazy in the cage

How are you picking him up? Has he always done this or is this a recent change? Also, are you male and female separated?

I am wondering the same thing how are you picking him up? Chinchillas are suposed to be taken out of the cage by grabbing there tell and carrying them slowly towards you. Also how long have you had him? If you have had them for less than a week he's just scared and adjusting to thier new habitat. If he keeps it up then it could just be his personality.
