We picked up Cinnamon yesterday!

I'm a little worried about her. It's been a while since we brought home new chins!

I uploaded a couple videos of her from just a few minutes ago. (During the day)

I'm not sure if she's breathing a little heavily? Vincenza seems to do that during the day too.

She's adjusting as expected, not eating much, not drinking much. But still a little inquisitive (I don't know what it is about this camera but chinchillas want to eat it.)

She did some chewing on a lava bite last night and there are many poops in her cage. So that's good.

She's in our spare room. I go in every couple hours to check on her.

The breeder gave us some food to bring back.

Any tips?

she's probably still a little scared. she looks apprehensive to me.

a note on that ball toy you have in her cage - i've read that they are not safe for chins due to the material on the inside and the glues used.

Ah kk. She did have kind of a rough day yesterday. New cage, people, hour car ride...

I bought the ball from someone here, hoping it's ok! :)

I would just give her a little time to adjust. During the day, most of my guys usually chill and aren't super active. If she is eliminating, that's a good sign that she is eating something.

I would keep an eye on her, make sure her eyes and nose look dry, and let her chill. It is so easy to get worked up about a new chin especially.

Congrats on the new addition.

Thank you!

Yeah, I know mostly what to expect from Vincenza now. But I'm worried about every little thing she does!

She hasn't been super active. Except the sudden interest in the camera. But we went to check on her a few times last night and saw a little flash of butt go into her house.

While the mark on the bottle hasn't gone down that much during the day

I FOUND A PEE CORNER!!!! And little halves of pellets. This is good!

Yayyy
