I finally got a new car. Took me 4 days to get it. I feel in love and had to have this car after seeing it on Monday afternoon. Tuesday I was very disappointment when my mom told me I couldn't get the car. I was crushed. So my wonderful loving daddy decided that I HAD to have that car.
He said after seeing how crushed I was with the thought of not getting the car, he decided that one way or another he was getting that car for me. My daddy sealed the deal on Thursday afternoon with the guy and he picked it Friday morning. (Had to wait till the next morning because they guy wouldn't take a check, he wanted cash and the bank closed Thursday before daddy got there) But he got it for me. It's a 97 Trans Am. It's a V8. I love it.

I can't put the key in my pocket or put it on my key ring due to my key (the one that runs the car) has a censor on it. That is the only key that can work that car without that key it won't start up at all. Not even with a screw driver because that censors not there. So thats pretty neat.

Yesterday I was putting some Cd in my car and some of things in it. Well, I noticed a red light flashing in the car on the dash. Thought it was pretty cool and knew it went to an alarm on the car. I wasn't sure if it worked or not because the guy never said anything about it. So I locked the car doors and stuff. Went in the house and waited about 5 minutes and ask daddy to go get something out of the car. He went out and tried opening the car door. The alarm started beating very low (like a warning) then got really really loud and my headlights came up and started flashing. I laughed so hard. and went outside laughing and told daddy the alarm worked. I had to unlocked the door with the key (the censored key) and put the key in and start the car and turn it off to get the alarm to go off. It was so funny. But even to turn the alarm on the car off you have to have the key with the censor on it.

Wow - I bet that started some wars at your house. Mom said no, dad rolled right over her.

Congrats on the car though. The first is always exciting.

FYI - I drive a V8. I hope you have looots of gas money.

Sounds like a great car. Congratulations. :clap1:

I'm glad I'm not paying your insurance. Teen driver + V8 + Sports car = $$$$$$

aahhhhh............when i was 17 my daddy bought me a brand new iroc-z V8 yummy fast engine!! it was SO much fun to drive. congrats & good luck. be careful!!!

Tunes --> no wars started. mom was trying to get a loan with the bank but they wouldn't let her because my brother got a loan with them and isn't payign it. my mom co-signed and the bank won't let her get a loan. So I couldn't get the car. Daddy got the money and got me the car. This is like my 4th car actually lol I gave my dad the other 3 because I didn't want them.

Thanks Nancy. yeah my parents are paying my insurance lol

Macygray, yes thats it. Mine looks almost identical to that one.

Thanks Michelle. I will be careful.

Looks like a great car - be careful of traction in wet weather - they slide right out!! Hopefully it has traction control, as that's a big help!
A can of slick 50 with your next oil change, and one of those K+N air filters will help with the mileage, and keep the tires at the recommended pressure, too!
If it were mine, I'd consider some kind of "mudflap" for those gravel roads, *miles from nowhere,* as chipped paint = rust, even without salt!!
Good luck and keep it straight!

Aw yes, the wonderful Trans Am. I always wanted one, and am sad that Pontiac will be going out of business in 2010. Unless I get a used Trans Am I will probably never have one. I just heard on the news yesterday or the day before that in 2010 they will be closing down Pontiac. :( I always wanted a black Fire Hawk and then I was going to put a Batman symbol on the back window. My license plate was going to be BatGirl. hahaha I was in love with that car, and I can still remember the day in high school that I parked next to a silver one and had no idea what car it was, but it was love at first sight. I must have spend a few minutes just walking around that car, peering into the windows and then writing down what kind of car it was just so I'd never forget. That's LOVE, and its been nearly ten years!

Enjoy the car. Do me a favor and one of these days when you drive her, think of me. :)) I had always thought that Pontiac would come out with another Trans Am...like a newer, more modern model. There were sooo many rumors that the new camaro (you know Bumblebee from Transformers) was suppose to be the new Trans Am. Nope... :(

I saw one of these today for sale & couldn't believe how much they were asking for it. I cried a little inside lol

I'd also be curious to know what your parents are paying for that. I would NOT want to take up that insurance bill, sheesh. I got a V6 as opposed to V4 last year and my insurance shot right up. Can't imagine going to a V8.

Have fun with it! It's beautiful.

Cinder and Me, I will think of you when I drive it tomorrow. It will have (suppose to) insurance tomorrow. Has a tag on it and its good until November but I have to go get a new tag from the court house. (i don't know thats what daddies for lol hes doing it for me) I have to go get gas so I'll think of you.
I wanted a t-top 01 camero but couldn't find one locally.

searchand_dstry, I know what you mean. I went shopping today to get my cousin something for her housewarming party today and saw one at a car lot. I stopped just to check the price on the window. The car lot wanted $5400 for it and it was a 1995. My values at $8000 (a little over) and I got it for $2800.

They were asking wayyy more than that! It was in pristine condition though.. paint job was perfect, mechanically sound (supposedly), new tires, etc. They were asking about $12,000. I'm not 100% sure of the year though on it.
