We got our Chin a new cage the FN and she seems like she is really stressed out and scared. any tips how to make her feel better? thanks

Did you move her old stuff into the new cage (house, ledges, fleece)?
It may take a day or two, but she should start to check things out and be just fine.

Yeah we took everything out and put it in her new home. she just seems really scared and stuff. she doesn't even seem to sleep in her house like she usually does.

If she had a smaller cage before, she may feel insecure. Try putting something on top of the cage to give her a "roof". It might help.

Some fleece on the top sides and back should help the little one feel more secure. Try and give chin space and quiet kinda like when you first bring a new pet home. :)

And just watch the food, water intake and poops to be sure every thing goes well... Chins can stress easily.

If she is open to both levels, block one off for now until she gets used to one level. As she gains courage and familiarity with her surroundings then open up the second level. Give her several places to hide, house, tubes etc. Cover the top with something that she cannot chew and if possible push the cage into the corner (but not completely up against the wall - that way she is only being approached from two sides instead of potentially four.

Good luck - we all hate moving and chins are no different.

I agree with all above -- also, maybe try to add a couple more fleece items to "fill" in the cage if its bigger than her previous one. I have fleece draped over the top of my FN so my chin ontop feels a bit more closed in, it also gives you more places to store items on top of the cage since they wouldn't be able to reach through the bars anymore.

Thanks everyone! the other day before i even read all your post we decided to put a sheet over her cage to make her feel more comfortable and give her some privacy & it really seemed to help. she is much happier. Thanks for the advice!
