Just got a cage (similar to a FN cage) for my chin and it has a height of around 50 inches. I'm placing tiers at 7-inch intervals alternating left and right. The central part of the cage looking downwards will be empty as such and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced their chin falling from the highest tier down to the ground floor?

I know that chins can break fall but I'm still slightly worried. Any advice or experience would be useful. Thanks!

It is definitely not unheard of, especially with the younger clumsy chins. I have a 6 year old who is still clumsy. It would be safe to stagger shelves so that there is not as far as a fall, or hang a large hammock across the middle of the cage to catch a fall.

I would make big shelves that would act almost like a floor in the ferret nation to make sure there was less chance of falling and getting hurt.
