New babies to first time parents (and owners!)

So, my wife and I have had chinchillas for almost 2 years now, and had our first litter on the 25th! (Pictures coming soon, calm yourselves!)

The male is a hetero beige, and the female a **** ebony (again, pics coming soon,) both with amazing tempermants. We bred them solely to be able to spread Chinchilla wealth to our friends, and are thinking about trying to get a bit more serious at it after being all but glued to these forums for the past week (I blame you!)

One of the babies is going to my wife's best friend, who has wanted to steal our Wilson White for about a year now.

Is it a recent pic of mom? Just wanted to make sure you took any ledges out, she needs to stay down low so babies can nurse.

No, it's not recent She's in a single story cage with no ledges, away from daddychilla. We're re-introducing at the end of next week, so fingers crossed! And yes, dad's cage is baby ready, thanks to all the wonderful advice you guys have given us.

Very very cute, congratulations! Is the one in the 2nd pic having a little trouble opening his eyes? That is a common problem, all you need to do is slightly dampen them with a warm cotton ball and gently pry them open

Just a quick note. Your female is a medium ebony, not a home (extra dark) ebony. What colors are the kits' bellies? If they are white, they are beige chins. If not, they are tans. They are all really cute! Congratulations!

Ebony, beige, etc. is not a "breed" it is merely a description of the color of a chinchilla.

Thanks for the clarification! And about the eyes, I'm sorry I didn't see your post before, but they have both been opening them fine. I think he was just tired.
