hey everyone!
i'm sarah
i'm 20 years old and live in ontario canada
i have one chinchilla, his name is theo.
i got him when i was 13 from a chinchilla farm that use to breed them for coats but now only sells them as pets.
i got him when he was a baby. he was soo cute!
about a year after i got him i ran into a lady who needed to give her chinchillas away. she had 2 males and 4 females. one mother 5 siblings. 2 cages. so i put my little theo in with the 2 males and i never saw them fighting but they were bullying my little theo. i finally found a couple young ladies who were studying animals in university and it was an assignment to take on an animal of their choice. by the time i got my little baby out of there and in his own cage he had all his whiskers chewed off and half of his ear was missing. they were eating him alive!
theo grew up to be the happiest and very healthy chinchilla. he has never bit me ever, and just loves attention.
over the pass few months he has gone down hill.
please read my thread on eye infection? skin infection? i don't know what to call it!
he has a few things wrong with him.
i have joined this network to hopefully find some answers.
