I have a chance to babysit a ferret for just short of 6 weeks, they would bring it to my house, and with the 2 kids it would get much more attention.
My question is what would be a fair fee for petsitting?

How old are your kids? I have 4 ferrets, they are a lot of fun, so playful! They are dirtier than chins, their poo is more like a cats, and smelly. They will require more cleaning work than a chin. I would say between $50-$75 depending on the reason, and if you're friends. Make sure it is a kid friendly ferret, I had one that was insane and attacked like a police dog.

And I am sure it goes without saying to keep the chins far far away! I think $10-$15 a week is good, but usually a discount with a longer period of time, and for a caged pet, so about $60 plus food and stuff sounds good I think.

My son is 14 and daughter is 10. They love ferrets. The chins and ferrets would be no where near each other more than likely on seperate floors depending on how big the cage is.
