Last night my boyfriend went to bed dizzy. When he stood up this morning he still experienced the dizziness and almost fell over multiple times when brushing his teeth. He says it feels like he's drunk and now he is experiencing nausea along with the dizziness.

He only experiences the nausea and dizziness when standing...he's fine when he's sitting. My first thought was an inner ear infection...does anyone else have any guesses?

He is being too hard headed and won't let me take him to the doctor. He says he'll go tomorrow if the symptoms are still there. Nothing I say or do will convince him.

Ear infection, vertigo, Meniere's disease (I doubt that one), the flu, sinus infection.

Tell him to stop being a pansy and go to the doctor. God men are dumb sometimes.

Sinus infection will cause all of that. He can take Advil to limit the inflammation but I agree he needs to see a doctor (i almost wrote he needs to see a vet)
HA!

By the way he acts sometimes, I would say he needs to see a vet too. :D

I've tried to convince him to go, and even bribed him with a free lunch...but to no avail. Ugh.

Orthostatic hypotension COULD be the cause, but since you said he went to bed dizzy last night, I'd highly doubt that it's that. Usually, that occurs only after having been sitting/lying for a while and suddenly stand up. I'd take my bets on sinus or ear infection/fluid. If that's the case, diphenhydramine (Benadryl) can be taken to dry the fluid that is in excess causing dizziness. I'm assuming that the nausea is from being dizzy. Fix the dizziness and the nausea will no longer occur. There's my thoughts.

Could also be Labrinthytis(sp). Basically middle ear VIRUS, had it several times and I was DIZZY and walked like i was Drunk, I had to have a Dr note to show Police if I got stopped for any traffic infraction, shouldnt of been driving but had to for work and to keep kids in all the activities they are in. Basically I just took Draminine and another Prescription to help with the unsteadyness of it all, but he needs to see a DR.

Could be a million things. A couple weeks back I had something like that, no other main symptoms but then I eventually got a day long fever and it was all gone. Could just be a bug.

I rememember having very similar symptoms a long time ago and the doc told me to take Bonine (meclizine hydrochloride). I believe they sold that over the counter but I'd still try to get him to go to the doc, Stacie.

My daughter has the same symptoms. With her, it's between the inner and middle ear. Her pediatrician kept treating her with stuff for sinuses and headaches, but it took an otolaryngologist to make a correct diagnosis. Sometimes, the anxiety of going to the doc is much worse than the actual visit...especially for adults.

could be:low blood pressure, low iron, ear infection, or vertigo. He should see a docotor (omg I did but vet and had to delete it!) to rule out blood pressure or low iron issues.

OR he should stop kissing you since it seems to make him faint!
