My hubby and I are both sick. Problem is, our insurance was changed last week and the new is still not in effect until next Monday so we can't go to the doctor. I know many of you dabble in homeopathic "medicine" that may be able to help us kick this a bit faster. My left ear hurts and I have a cough. I also have the normal achey/headache/sniffly symptoms. Christian also has the same, short of the ear hurting.

So...make us better!

If you go over the counter, the only thing that ever worked for me is Advil cold & sinus, the kind that is usually now "behind" the counter.

For non drug type relief, for the cough i would use Vicks non greasy cream rubbed both on my chest and i have heard on the soles of your feet. it helps with the congestion & cough.
Also and obviously the best things for these types of colds are lots of rest & lot and lots of fluids ( i like hot tea!)
And finally, since most over the counter cough medicine does not work, i like to take a tablespoon of honey before i go to bed. it helps to coat your throat. and in children was proven more effective than OTC cough medicine.

One other thing that i do when i am sick is take a hot bath or hot shower, they sell these things you can put in the shower that emits a eucalyptus type scent that helps you breathe.........i am drawing a blank on the name but i am thinking shower soothers??
