There are a lot of things to vent about, but this issue is definitely ONE of them.

I just finished reading an ad written by the parent of a child. It seems that their chinese crested puppy disappeared last night ("ran away or was stolen") so now they want a new one.

Seriously!!!

Ok, so you were irresponsible enough to leave a puppy outside by itself for a few hours or overnight. AND you were irresponsible enough to do it to a light coated breed in temps in the low 20's?!? What do you think is going to happen?? Nothing good!

So now, instead of looking for your lost, injured, or impounded animal you are looking for a quick replacement so that your child isn't upset. Hmm....
:impatient: :duh:

Yes, I did send them an email and no, of course they didn't respond.

Correction: I have been told by the person that I'm being "judgemental" to say they need to look for the dog. Aparrantly they did all the looking they want to.

They probably intentionally "lost" him and now their kid is unconsolable and they are tired of the crying so now that are "looking" for another.

One thing I hate, and no offence to any parent that has done this, but I hate it when little kids beg and beg that they want a puppy, and the parents get one for them thinking the kid will take care of it, and then something happens like it gets sicks, runs away, or the kids are sick of it already, and they just throw it in the pound and get a new dog a year later when the kid wants one again.

I hate it!

My foster dog, Elvis, had a meeting with a potential adopter on Sunday. The people seemed like the perfect family; very active, no dogs, wanting a dog. Elvis went over and the parents suprised their kids with him. Of course they had to say yes to him once the kids saw him. They kept him over night and Monday morning they took him back to the kennel without calling anyone and just dropped him off and said they didn't want him anymore. Seriously, why do that to a dog? Uhg.

In school we have people randomly drop dogs off in our building and leave thinking that because we are a vet school, we will take care of their dog and take it. We walk out and there is a dog with tags in our building, so we call the owner and they say they don't want it anymore. People just make me sick.

My dad is guilty of getting dogs, keeping them for a while, then getting rid of them for some reason or another, then quickly gets a new dog. I call him out on it all the time.
