Is it normal for my chins hair to be falling out? It's not large amounts or chunks just looks like shedding I found some hair in his dust bath after I took it out. He doesn't have any bald patches or anything but his old owner (just got him) was letting him live in his bath house... He had soiled in his dust bath a lot so when I got him I took it out cleaned the house and put fresh dust in it. I left his bath house in the cage for like 20 minutes and there was some hair in the left over dust... I'm just wondering if I should be concerned?

I would not be concerned. Chins shed naturally and it's common for a bit of fur to get groomed out and fall out into the dust bath while they're rolling about. Keep an eye on it and as long as its not chunks and he's not fur-chewing you should be good to go :)

They "slip" clumps of hair, if they get startled or grabbed at. But yeah, chins do shed some! He also might be fur chewing? Does he have areas of fur that look uneven?
For now I'd just keep an eye out for bald patches or evidence of chewing, and make sure he's eating and pooping okay. Congrats on your new fluffy-baby!!

There is nothing to worry about. Chinchillas both shed and slip fur and both of these are perfectly normal. You will be seeing fur clumps every now and then.
