My Chins cage smells or urine pretty badly!

So I have noticed lately that my chinchillas cage smells of urine, which usually it never ever smells! It looks like she has actually been peeing on her wooden ledges and wood hidey house. Is this normal? Could she have a UTI or something? I am very worried about her and hope this isn't anything serious! Could you guys please give me some information on any of your experiences with this sort of thing? Thanks!

It is normal; you just have to sand the wood to get rid of the pee stains

You can also clean the wood with hydrogen peroxide. I usually scrub with hydrogen peroxide, let it dry overnight, then sand.

Sometimes chins develop nasty little bad habits out of the blue :-(

If she is sitting in the pee, she could get a lot of it on her fur.
