I recently adopted a 10 year old female chinchilla from the local human society. While she was surrendered for being "aggressive" we have yet to see her do anything more than a warning nip, usually just hard enough to get your attention when you are bugging her. So far she has never sprayed me or anyone else.

However during playtime in the bathroom she recently started peeing on me. Usually she will jump onto my lap and pee on my pants, tonight she was on my shoulders and peed down my back. Now I have since learned what her I am just going pee posture is, and she takes this stance every time she goes on me. So my main question is, is this an aggressive behavior or is she simply looking for a soft place to pee when we have playtime?

On a side note I think we will be putting down a fleece covered puppy pad tomorrow night, just to see what happens.

Peeing on you is not an aggressive behavior unless she is rearing up and spraying pee on you. It sounds more like she is just looking for somewhere comfy to pee. Depending on how long you have her out for she could just not be able to hold it long enough to go back in the cage. Offering her some place to go pee is a good idea, just make sure when using a puppy pad that there is no possible way she can get it to chew on it. If she is litter trained then definitely offer a litter pan to go in. I have noticed with my boys that if I give them anything soft to play in during playtime they take it as an invitation to pee on it.
