I have two cats and they are both predominantly white so I keep them indoors. We're in the desert...coyotes are not averse to coming in and taking kitties. Stella is entirely white and a total chicken. She LOVES being indoor which is odd because she was born a stray and I got her when she was about 8 weeks old. So she won't go outside and I'm glad about that. Bryze on the other hand is mostly white with brown spots. She doesn't like being outside but she is so scared of my boyfriend that she will bolt to whatever "freedom" she sees to get away from him. He hasn't done anything to her...but about a year ago he was carrying her into the bedroom and she freaked out. She is NOT a people cat so she does not like being held by anyone except for me. Well she turned on him and basically ripped into his hands with her teeth and claws while screaming bloody murder. I ran out to find a panicked cat pinned on the ground and a very bloody boyfriend. Fixed them both up but their relationship has been untrustworthy since then.
Anyhow, we just moved to a new place and while we weren't looking, Bryze managed to slip out of the dog door and took off. This was about a month ago. A week after she was gone and none of the flyers were getting us any tips, we decided to take a walk and see if we could find her. I found her hiding under my neighbor's shed and we talked to them about going back there. We've never met them before but they were very nice and even helped in the venture of getting my kitty back. It didn't work. So I set some food out for her at our place hoping to lure her back. She managed to sneak in and grab a bite the next night and then nothing. I checked the shed daily and didn't see her white butt again. I was beginning to lose hope and my neighbors were on watch for her. Finally...almost three weeks after I sited her under the shed we heard a yowl at our back door. She FINALLY came back! She is skin and bones and I'm so upset about it! She should have come home earlier! She's eating and drinking just fine now and we're watching her so closely to make sure she doesn't have another escape that it's getting ridiculous. We do a full house check before letting the dogs out for potty just so we know EXACTLY where she is.
Here are her skinny pics...
